ELEVATION CERTIFICATE
As new Flood Insurance Rate Maps become effective, many property owners are now required by their mortgage companies to carry flood insurance because they were in a high-risk zone. Others may decide to voluntarily acquire flood insurance based on the new, more accurate flood plain data. Eventually, insurance rates may change for those who already have flood insurance based on the County’s new maps.
In order to determine your proper insurance rate, all insurance companies will require that property owners in the updated flood plain obtain a new FEMA Elevation Certificate by a licensed land surveyor or engineer. Tri-Tech Surveying Company’s professional land surveyors can perform these elevation surveys and produce the required FEMA Elevation Certificate which will reflect the finished floor elevation of your structure relative to the base flood elevation, per the new maps.
